Something different - Well-worn words

I purchased the Stampin Up (retired) well-worn words background stamp off trademe recently... I decided it was quite different and would be a good edition to my collection. So after zipping out for a well needed haircut this morning, I decided I'd have a go at a card before I get into some study... I was trying to make something that would look quite aged and kinda antique looking.. not sure I succeeded but this is what I ended up with....
What do you think???

Thanks to the new visitors to my blog for not only visiting but for kindly leaving me messages... I feel better knowing someone is out there after all!!

This card is made with the Stampin up set - pocket silhouttes and the swirl is from SU xmas set, season of joy.
It's 10 o'clock at night already - I must finish this blog and get into some study now... who needs sleep anyway!

Lovely as a tree - mountain scene

Here is an interesting attempt at a landscape card... It's inspired by a card Michelle made for her DH birthday recently...... I have brayered the sky with many colours, sponged the grass around the trees, masked the moon/or sun and heat embossed white then tried to sponge yellow over the top.....

This card looked pretty flat so I decided to laminate it.. now it has a super glossy look which softens the picture and now it looks like it's worth a million bucks!

Bumper cars - clear stamps

And another bargin from Scrapbooking Fever, only $3.50 for this little set... and it's just so very cute...

Owl set - clear stamps

Another bargin from scrapbooking fever is a lovely set of birds and owls.... I don't think the clear stamps are as good to stamp with as rubber stamps.. but if the price is right!!!! I have also tried using scallops out of acetate and the 3 flowers at the bottom - hard to see in the photo tho...

Petal Prints - Last creation of the weekend

Well, sadly, it's back to work tomorrow for me, so before the stroke of midnight, here is my last creation of the weekend... I sprayed the stamps with water before stamping to give them the watercolour artistic look....

I probably won't be blogging much over the next week as I have to catch up on some study, I have a deadline fast approaching and they are no extensions!! Working full-time means I have to do all of my study in the evenings and weekends (obviously I didn't get any study done this weekend)! I'm sure it's a small sacrifice.... but somehow carding making is more appealing!

Pearls - Live your dream

I really like the look of pearls on my cards... just seems to finish them off nicely....

Felt Elephant

After trying some felt yesterday and making a felt lion, I went out to spotlight to buy a sheet of grey and pink felt for the elephant... it didn't cut as well as the lion and I lost part of his tail in the process.. but If I hadn't told you, you may not have noticed..... He is still cute!

Minnie Mouse

I had to try my pack of cheap felts from Warehouse Stationery... I didn't want to use my Le Plume markers (stampin ink) for colouring in cards....... The pink doesn't quite match but close enough...

Decorated tin

This little tin came from the $2 shop... not bad once it is covered.... Not sure what to fill it with so will have to wait til I need a gift for someone...

Cuttlebug - Christmas Mickey Mouse

I love the disney cuttlebug packs... Once you have Mickey Mouse you can then just buy the accessory packs like this Christmas one... Even used on their own without Mickey will be good.. I can imagine an xmas tree with red and gold balls......
