Manhattan flower embossing

Here is a quick and easy card using the Stampin Up Manhattan flower embossing folder and some new designer paper from a friend.

I decided to do two mojo cards this week, one stamped and one with my cuttlebug.
The stamped one is inspired by a birthday card I recieved from a friend as pictured in my recent post. Both cards are using the designer paper that came with the magazines as a birthday gift from my friend (Thanks Rel).
For the cuttlebug image I decided to use one of the embossing folders that came free with my cuttlebug - I hardly ever use them and don't like the way they are like a postage stamp in that they have a number in the corner, so I have covered this up with the little butterfly.

Gift from a friend

I so very lucky to arrive home from work last week to find a dear friend had dropped off a very special Birthday gift for me. All wrapped up in lovely purple paper with butterflies and the super mesh bow decoration as per the photo. Now she would normally make me a card but happened find this delightful card as per photo which had the most lovely words inside, just the kind of nice things she would say. Cardmaking magazines are certainly a luxury these days as they are very expensive so I was very surprised and spoilt to find not 1 but 4 magazines packed with loads of techniques and ideas. Rel, thanks for making my birthday special, you are so very thoughtful and kind.

Birthday inspiration - notepad books

My Auntie (not really my Auntie but the closest I have to one), gave me a lovely notepad giftbook today for my 39th (GULP!) birthday. I haven't taken a photo of it but it immediately inspired me to make some.

The pad was huge yet I only had small ones in my craft supplies so I made small notepad/books...

I can see I will need to make lots of these for Christmas stocking fillers!

Birthday card - inspiration

I recieved this very lovely birthday card today from a friend at work, it's perfect in every way as of course I love budgies and one of them even looks like my 'Kiwi'. The moment I saw the card I was inspired to try to make one myself. My attempt didn't work very well but at least I tried!

Scrapbook pages

Here are a couple of scrapbook pages I made last night. I am enjoying the small pages... I cannot believe how thin I looked when I were young, I NEED TO GO ON A DIET!

plain and very simple - butterfly card

Here is a very plain and very simple buttlerfly card... the butterfly is a spellbinders nestability die, I have cut out in the window and put a piece of patterned paper inside. Then scored the frame.

MOJO 148

I hope you can tell I put a bit more effort into to mojo this week. I tried a new bow style as seen on other mojo makers creations (thanks for sharing) and finally found the right string to thread buttons easily... even finished my mojo with a matching handmade envelope. I am really pleased with this one, hope you like it too!

Canvas picture - summer by the sea

Mojo 147

Another cool mojo sketch this week..... speaking of cool, it's zero degrees overnight at the moment and we have loads of snow on the mountain... luckily I bought a new electric blanket on the weekend as my last one stopped working on one side... the new one has a timer so I can program it to turn off when I want (while I am asleep) and set it to the temperature I want, very handy as waking up almost burning in bed after falling asleep with the EB on is not much fun (I'm sure you have all been there!)....So the upgrade was long overdue and much safer for the late night crafter!
hope you like my mojo, thanks for looking...
