Birthday and farewell card - something different

I have been so busy lately you may have noticed I have not been bloggin or creating for a whie now.. we have had lovely sunny days and I managed to put up my swimming pool, a lovely 24 degree on saturday (the first swim).. then spring cleaning and sorting out things to sell from the clean out... and finally putting up all of my Christmas decorations!

Here are a couple of cards, one for a friend at work, having a birthday today.. She has a Wii console like me and the Wiifit plus, and this card is made based on the stepping game/exercise...

Secondly a farwell card for one of the hairdressing tutors at work who is leaving to spend more time with her new salon....

Wedding invitations

My brother who has recently moved from London to Australia, is getting married in Feb 2011 in Tauranga, New Zealand.
He and his fiancee Cherie asked if I would make thier wedding invitations. Thanks to modern technology i.e. skype, we were able to go back and forth with ideas and designs and come up with something they really liked. The theme for the wedding is picnic and New Zealand so we have incorporated red gingham ribbon and photos of NZ fauna....
I made 45 invites and 50 thank you cards.... all boxed up and posted today....

More brayering... little house...

I am really enjoying the brayering technique, unfortunately I still get funny streaks and blotches and definate lines. I am not sure how to avoid these apart from sponging on top... Any ideas or secrets, please let me know... thanks

Brayered sky

I thought I'd try the brayer technique again, unfortunately I am still not very good and can't work out where I am going wrong....

Check out Michelle Zindorf's site on the my blog list, she is amazing! The holiday greeting card is her design, I didn't really do it justice though.

So after trying one of Michelle's I tried four of my own creations.....

I wish she would come to New Zealand to run some classes!

Get well soon card

I recently entered one of these on a
site, creative card crew, they were running a competition on get well cards and a friend of a friend made refernce to it so I thought I'd join in.... I had some lovely comments and people seemed to get a giggle out of the card , so here is another one.
This time I used different feet, the cuttlebug jandle and foot die. Also a flat screen TV from the spellbinders rectangles, cut and embossed. And the flower pot is also a small cuttlebug die. The headboard/footboard is simply cut out/shaped with the stampin up word window punch. The TV feet and Bed ends are just a holepunched peice by using the Cropodile Big Byte.
