Brayering - my take on Michelle Zindorf's latest creation

Here are tonights creations, a friend card with some new DSP and the Just Believe set with brayered background, after stamping 'friends' over the circle flower pattern I realised it would have been better in the middle... but never mind....

Next is a quick card froma recent trademe bargin, the one of a kind set, recently retired. I bought this set as it has 3 small blossoms in it (not used on this card) which go with the boho blossoms punch which I have on order to go with a level one hostess set I will be getting soon, so thought I'd get this set so I have another stamp to go with the punch.... (how easy it is to justify my purchases LOL!)

And lastly my take on Michelle Zindorf's latest brayering card - check out her link on my blog list to see how her card looks.. I never seem to be able to brayer mine to look as good as hers, hopefully practice makes perfect!

All in the family

Here are tonights creations, both birthday cards for friends... hopefully they do not look at my blog!

The first one is for one of hairdressing tutors at work (Fiona), it's her 40th Birthday tomorrow so I made this card with a big 40 inside and the people on the front are my hair and beauty tutors and me of course!

and lastly a birthday card for my friend Michelle who is celebrating her 40th on Saturday night. There is a bit of a story to this card and anyone who knows me will surely LOL at this card (You had to be there!)....

I seem to know a few people turing 40 and am so glad I am still 39! Scary!!!!!

Another Christmas Gift Bucket

Here is a tiny little gift bucket... filled with marshmallows!

Christmas gift buckets and tins

Here are some gift buckets and tins I made last night. I can't believe I sold the whole lot before I had left the carpark at work. I was going to put them in the staff room but a lovely lady from work wanted a look while I was on my way there... she bought them all! Some all filled with marshmallows, jelly jubes (which I ate some of course), some with chocolates and one with a christmas teddy bear!

Stand Up card - Season of Joy

Okay so only one more creation tonight... here is a Stand Up card.

This is my first attempt and there are a few flaws in the making! But the concept worked a treat!

The first photo is the card closed and secured with ribbon through a double ribbon punch hole which goes through the red 'roofing' card and then through the front layer of the white card only.

The second photo is the card opened up and laying flat on the table - this is a downward/ariel view photoshot. Here you can see the flaw, I stamped the words before punching the ribbon slot!

And the final photo is of the view
of the card laying down
open with the Stand Up Christmas Tree.
Cool Aye!

Leave me a comment if you want to know anymore on how to make this if you can't work it out from the photos...

Postcard - fold out

After going to the library after work and getting some books out on 'making handmade books', I came across a picture of this fold up postcard. It didn't have instructions on how to make but I worked it out by using the CD template I had made for the puffy boxes (refer to puffy box post or splitcoast tutorial). I figure I would be able to post this as is without an envelope..... just need to add an address label on the front our use lighter cardstock.

For the scallop I used for the closure, I punched holes in each scallop so I could thread ribbon through and punched two holes in postcard left and right flaps - to be able to thread the ribbon through both the scallop and card flaps underneath. If I was posting I would tie ribbon in knot so it will not undo in post.

The postcard stamp is from Stampin Up Winter Post set, the lines and flower from Live your dream set. And of course I took the photo of Mt Egmont from Stoney River.

For a first attempt, it's not bad, has real potential!

Hung up on the holidays - popup christmas tree

This card has a very simple front, the stylie snowflake if from SU new catelogue, Winter Post set. For the inside of the card I have made a simple popup christmas tree. Added some ornaments from the SU Hung up on the holidays set and made a gingerbreadman chain which folds up when the card is closed. It's quite effective when you open the card as not only does the tree pop out but also the cute little gingerbreadmen....

I'm having a half day at work tomorrow and hoping for a beautiful day as I am planning on going up the mountain for some photography and a play in the snow! Yippee I LOVE winter.
