Cricut cardz challenge - A jungle out there!

Here is my entry for the Cricut cards challenge, A jungle out there!
I decided to do a get well card for someone with chicken pox or measles, which should explain the pink pearls instead of the giraffes spots! A little bit outside the box I know!

I used the following cartridges:

  • Animal kingdom using border selection for the 3 giraffes and the layer, also the phrase
  • Platin schoolbook for the grass

Hope it makes you smile!

Birthday - cupcake

Here is a very large up cake card made using A Child's year cartridge.

CRICUT Scrapbook page - Clock

Here is todays creation, a scrapbook page from a design in the jun/july cricut magazine designed by Beth Marohn, thanks for the inspiration Beth. I used a photo of my other brother and his fiancee from a a photo I took of them at my other brothers wedding in Febraury at Te Puna. I used accent essentials for the corners and middle flowers, platen schoolbook for the font and elegant edges for the circle of the clock. The clock parts I bought about a year ago for $3 in a sale and finally found a purpose for them.

CRICUT Mens cards

And the last creations of the evening - SUCH FUN! Mens cards as Father's day is coming in september and also one of my brothers birthdays.
The first card is using life's a beach for the helm and the yacht border. Second using a skier silhouette from the dude cartridge and brayering the sky blue and sponging some definition into the snow. Thirdly a jug of beer from everyday pop up cards, I couldn't decide if it looked better with or without the gold although beer is a browny gold.... And lastly a hot air balloon from everyday pop up cards.

CRICUT Baby cards

Some baby cards using sugar and spice and the onesies from everyday pop up cards and the lace border on the first card from Cindy loo.

CRICUT cards Nates abcs, cindy loo, nursery rhymes

Here are a few of tonights creations, Umbrella and gummies from Nates ABCs, bird from Cindy loo and lady bugs from Nursery rhymes.

Wedding scrapbook page - based on idea in Cricut magazine

This layout is based on a picture in the april/may cricut magazine,  a design by Lisa Houpt. Thanks Lisa for the inspiration!
I used the cartridges as follows:

  • Elegant edges for the lace matting
  • Quarter note for the font
  • Home decor for the chandelier and the flourish
  • Flower shoppe for the flower
  • Life's a beach for the fern type leaves
I am not only LOVING my cricut but also the new CRICUT magazines, they are packed with ideas and inspiration and simply the best magazine I have ever purchased...you will not be disappointed!

Campin critters and Winter frolic CRICUT scrapbooking layouts

I had a lot of fun making these scrapbook pages, firstly the campin critters layout just as it is in the cartridge book as the project to try, i did note though the handbook says to do the sign at 5.5" and that is way too big! even the 3.5" it is still too big for the design as pictured in the handbook and the photo mat sizing is not right either but have modified to suit. I added a little cuttlebug embossing on the caravan and the tree to add some texture and am pleased with the result.

Next is a page inspired by the weekend where after a fab snowfall I went up the mountain to take some photos. The mountain was closed so had to walk up the road from the second gates, have a sore calf muscle to show for it! It was very icy on the road with loads of snow around so can appreciate why it was closed. The second carpark was completely covered with snow and when I walked over it my feet sank up to me knees! Just lovely! As I went up North egmont, I changed the CRICUT designed sign from North Pole to North Egmont, seemed fitting!

CRICUT Wild card cards and envelopes

I couldn't help but buy this cartridge as it looked rather clever with the matching envelopes and many shaped cards. I have only had a quick play with it and like what I see. I imagine with more time I could really dress up the cards and make some rather impressive shaped cards with matching envelopes....

Every moment and Wanted SU cards

Well it's about time I make some stamped cards, the first is a design from Sharlene and trisha which they shared with me after being shown it at a conference or training session thing, so I don't know who designed it but glad they shared it with me... this was made especially for a friends birthday.

The next one is from the wanted set as I recently sold my bareback set and then bought the wanted one as preferred this one more...

Photo Calendar with stand

Here is a photo calendar I made for a friends birthday with some of her photos from her recent trip to Egypt. The fantastic fold out stand at the back is from the cricut fancy frames cartridge which I bought especially for the fold out backs as can see so many things I want to make stand up!!

Cricut Flower shoppe fancy frame - friends

This is a super fun project I made tonight for one of my friends, who is in the photo of course!

I used the Cricut Fancy Frames cartridge for the front, design/fancy front, and backing fold out stand and sandwiched together with stiff scrap cardboard. I forgot to sponge/ink the scrap cardboard so had to do the edge with a mark later, it was hard to do this way and easy to slip!

Then I made 3 super flowers from the cricut flower shoppe cartridge, these were much better than my first attempt a few weeks back, many thanks to the lady who left me a comment on how to do the centers, it works much better. You're a star! I love that people share their ideas so freely and take time to comment on others blogs, craft people have class.

I was going to enter this in a competition and thought I saw one about flowers but now can't find the site.... never mind.. I LOVE my cricut so much I am selling lots of my stamp sets as I can't see me doing as much stamping , although I enjoy stamping, the cricut is like a bug you simply catch and it never goes away!

Hope you like the frame. Thanks for looking.
