Scrapbook page - page maps - Tigers

It's been a while since I made any cards as we had a lovely long weekend which was full of daylight and sunshine. It's been a long time coming so I had to get outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.
I finally got around to making a scrapbook page tonight, based on a page map from my new Becky Fleck Page Maps book.... I took these photo's a few months ago and have decorated the page using my new cuttlebug alphabet, Hippie Chick, the blossoms from boho blossoms punch, SU dsp, the heart from the SU level one punch potpurri stampset, nestabilites for journaling with dotted lines stamp from SU Live your dreams set.

Scrapbook page maps -Becky Fleck

How exciting, I got home from work to find my books had arrived from the US (amazon.com). They only took 16 days to arrive although for standard delivery they said they would arrive by about 10th November! Unfortunately the postage from US to NZ can be expensive so I went for the cheapest option however arrived in great time. I couldn't find the books in NZ and when I did it would cost over $100....

So all up I got these two fabulous books for just under $70 NZ. Scrapbook Page Maps and Scrapbook Page Maps 2, by Becky Fleck. (She has done a great job on these books)

They are so cool, not only are they packed with layouts (page maps) but also many completed pages using the layouts. And they come with cards you pop out with the page map on one side and the finished sample on the other.

They have 12x12, A4 horizontal, A4 vertical, 12x12 double pages, A4 double pages and a few card layouts too! The layouts use anything from 1 to 10 photos in a page map and for all the different sized sketches. One of the best things I like about these page maps is they have the size of the photos to use, how easy is that!

There are about 60 page maps (cards) in each book. The first ones don't have a ring or hole but come with a box to store them in and the second comes with holes ready to put onto a ring, a much better idea so you can take them wherever you go, even when shopping for supplies! I put holes in the first lot and added a ring as preferred this to a box... easy to flick through.....

Now I just need sometime to start my scrap booking, luckily we have a long weekend on its way!

More Christmas cards

Christmas cards are by far my favourite to make..

This first one is inspired by a femo design I saw recently in a magazine, I didn't use femo though as find it too brittle and breakable so just went with cardstock...

Next is the lovely as a tree, tree on it's side and the delighful decoration baubles hanging below....

Then a simple bauble with a Christmas saying stamped on top....

And lastly another Santa in the chimney card but this time with a more appropriate saying - from the just believe set.....

Just add ink (just add blue) Surf's Up

Just add ink's challenge this week is to just add blue, so here is my entry.
Since buying the SU extreme surfer stamp. I just knew I had to get the surf's up set to go with it!

So worth the wait

I thought the word play set saying would go well with this card, on showing someone this card today, they didn't get it, maybe my mouse hole is too big and they didn't recognise the cheese either!

Nested 3D Christmas cards

A few fun creations tonight....

I don't know the name for it but I saw at the craft fair a while back that you can buy printed cards with nested type layers (i hope you know what I mean) so I thought I would try to make my own version of these using a stamped image (once for background and second for layering) then cut the layering one with 3 spellbinders nestabilities (3 for layering 3d and the other two (larger ones) for the backing and frame.

I was plesantly surprised with the result and it does look like the things I remembering seeing at the craft fair...but of course better as not printed or mass produced or expensive!

I have tried two, one square and using the Stampin Up wish for peace set and the second oval, using the Stamping up Dasher stamp...

Posted by PicasaLastly a different fold card which stands up once opened.... really simple to make so let me know if you want the instructions....
Hope you like them...

MOJO 160 Sketch

A little late this week but here is my mojo card(s), I am stocking up on Christmas cards and as there were three designs in the stampset I used I thought I would make 3 at once using this delightful sketch.

Belated birthday

This is a card made for a colleague at work who had her birthday during the holidays, although I was working she was enjoying the holiday break so her birthday card was a little late.... I don't have a dog stamp and she is a dog lover so the paw prints had to do...

The first one is a window scene with the cat sitting in front, his hat is too big isn't it??

Next is a take off of a brayered card by Michelle Zindorf, check out her blog on the links in my bloglists... This is no where near as goos as hers and I mucked up the shadow when trying to colour it in....
